Our Supporters: Helping Us Change Lives
We are proud to be supported by generous partners who share our commitment to equine welfare. Their support helps us rescue, rehabilitate, and provide lifelong care to horses in need across Western Australia.
GRANTS
LOTTERYWEST
Lotterywest plays a vital role in strengthening communities across Western Australia by returning profits from lottery ticket sales directly back into the community. As Australia’s only state-owned lottery dedicated to supporting local causes, its funding helps bring meaningful projects to life and empowers organisations to create lasting, positive change.
Through their generosity, not-for-profits, community groups, and local governments are allowed to grow, support those in need, and build a stronger future for all Western Australians.
We have been incredibly fortunate to benefit from Lotterywest’s support through a grant for our Tow and Collect manure system—something that has made a real and immediate difference to our sanctuary. This funding has allowed us to improve paddock hygiene, reduce parasite risk, protect our environment, and significantly ease the physical workload on our volunteers. Most importantly, it has created a safer, cleaner, and healthier space for our rescued horses to live and recover.
Their support goes far beyond funding—it enables us to continue our work with confidence, knowing we have the resources to provide the highest standard of care for the horses who rely on us.
We are deeply grateful to Lotterywest for their generosity, their belief in community-driven organisations, and the lasting impact they have made on our sanctuary and the lives of our horses.
OFF THE TRACK WA COMMUNITY FUND
The Off the Track WA (OTTWA) Community Fund is making a powerful difference in the lives of retired racehorses, giving them the chance to begin a new chapter beyond the track. Through grants of up to $7,000, they support WA-based organisations that are dedicated to the welfare, retraining, and rehoming of thoroughbred and standardbred horses.
Their support helps transform lives—funding programs in equine therapy, education, and retraining that allow these horses to rediscover purpose, trust, and care. For many of these horses, it truly means a second chance at life. We are deeply grateful for OTTWA’s commitment to ensuring that every horse has the opportunity to be valued, loved, and given a future after racing.
PETSTOCK
The PetStock Foundation is making a profound difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them. Through their generous support of rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming efforts, they stand beside organisations like ours, helping us give vulnerable horses the care, safety, and second chances they deserve.
Their compassion extends far beyond animals alone—they support people in crisis through animal-assisted therapy and vital pet care assistance, ensuring that no one has to face hardship without the comfort of their companion. Through partnerships with organisations such as Safe Pets Safe Families and Pets of the Homeless, they help keep animals and their people together during some of life’s most difficult moments.
We have been incredibly fortunate to receive an in-kind donation of winter rugs valued at $4,000 from the PetStock Foundation—something that has made a real and immediate difference to the horses in our care. During the colder months, these rugs provide essential warmth, comfort, and protection, especially for our older and more vulnerable horses who feel the cold the most.
For us, their support means hope. It means the ability to continue rescuing, healing, and advocating for horses who have nowhere else to go. We are deeply grateful for their kindness, their belief in what we do, and their commitment to keeping the bond between humans and animals strong.
Animal Support Op-Shop (ASOS)
The Animal Support Op-Shop is a truly remarkable community-based not-for-profit, built on compassion, kindness, and a deep love for animals. Entirely supported by volunteers, they dedicate countless hours behind the scenes, sorting, pricing, and selling donated clothing and goods—all with one purpose: to give back to animals in need across Albany and the surrounding communities.
What they do may seem simple on the surface, but the impact is profound. Every item sold, every donation received, and every hour volunteered directly helps fund the care, treatment, and rescue of animals like ours. Their support provides more than just financial assistance—it brings hope, healing, and a second chance to animals who have experienced neglect, hardship, or abandonment.
For our sanctuary, their generosity helps us continue the vital work of rescuing, rehabilitating, and caring for horses who have nowhere else to go. It helps put feed in their bellies, provides veterinary care when it’s needed most, and ensures they are given the dignity, comfort, and kindness they deserve.
The Animal Support Op-Shop is more than a shop—it is a lifeline. A quiet but powerful force within our community, made up of people who care deeply and act selflessly for the sake of animals.
We are incredibly grateful for their unwavering support, their compassion, and the difference they make every single day. Without them, many of the second chances we can give simply wouldn’t be possible.
COMMUNITY PAWS OP-SHOP
Community Paws Op Shop in Albany is a lifeline for so many in our community. Run by dedicated volunteers with big hearts, they support aged and disability pensioners who are doing their very best to care for the animals they love. Through their generosity, they provide vital assistance for veterinary care—helping cover the cost of flea and worm treatments, vaccinations, dental work, and sterilisation—ensuring that beloved pets can stay where they belong: at home, with their families.
Their work goes far beyond financial support; they help preserve the powerful bond between people and their pets, preventing heartbreak and keeping companions together. We are incredibly grateful for the compassion, kindness, and unwavering commitment Community Paws shows to both animals and the people who love them.
RACING AND WAGERING WA COMMUNITY FUND
The Racing WA Community Fund has made a truly meaningful difference to our sanctuary through their support of our water tank project. Access to reliable water is not just a necessity—it is essential to the health, safety, and well-being of every horse in our care.
Thanks to their generosity, we can provide consistent, clean water to our rescued horses, ensuring they can heal, thrive, and live with dignity. This support has strengthened our ability to care for vulnerable animals while also improving the sustainability of our operations.
Their contribution goes far beyond infrastructure—it gives us the confidence to continue our work, knowing we have the resources to provide the basic, yet vital, needs our horses depend on every single day. We are incredibly grateful for their support and the lasting impact it has made on our sanctuary.
